How To Cook Parboiled Long Grain Rice Perfectly

How To Cook Parboiled Long Grain Rice Perfectly

For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 kilogram of long-grain American parboiled rice
  • 6 cups of water or half a large pot
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil

How To Cook The Rice

  • Place the water into a large pot and add in the salt and oil
  • Let it come to a boil and wash your rice
  • Empty the rice into the boiling water
  • Use your cooking spoon and place it straight down into the pot until it touches the surface of the rice
  • If the water is in the middle of the spoon, you have enough water
  • Now leave the rice on high heat until it begins to boil
  • Lower the heat as much as possible and cover the pot
  • Do not stir the rice so that it does not break
  • Let it cook for up to 30 minutes
  • Once it starts to make a crust, you know your rice is done
  • Serve the rice hot
