This recipe and ingredients are enough to make lunch for up to 5 people, to make this tasty kafta recipe, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 kilogram of kafta made into oval shapes
  • 2 fresh tomatoes sliced into large round pieces
  • 7-8 medium potatoes peeled and sliced into large round pieces
  • 3-4 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon of tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 bouillon cube
  • 1-1/2 liter of water

Rice Recipe

  • 1 kilogram of short-grain Egyptian rice
  • 4 tablespoons of vermicelli noodles
  • 3-4 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 5-6 cups of water

How To Make Kafta And Potatoes With Rice The Lebanese Way

Follow to steps below to prepare your kafta, potatoes, and rice:

  • Heat the oil over medium heat and add in the kafta
  • let it fry until browned and gently turn it around one by one
  • once all of the juice evaporates, turn off the heat
  • In a large frying pot, fry the potatoes until golden brown
  • Remove excess oil from the potatoes
  • In a large pitcher, mix the water, tomato paste, salt, and bouillon cube
  • Place the potatoes over the kafta, next cover the potatoes with the fresh tomatoes
  • Pour the tomato paste and water mixture over the kafta, potatoes, and tomatoes
  • Place it over medium to high heat until it begins to boil or for at least 20 minutes
  • Place it into the oven for an extra 20 minutes and you are done!

  • Heat the pot and add in the noodles, let it fry until golden brown
  • Wash the rice and add it into the noodles
  • Let it continue to fry until all the water dries
  • Continue stirring so that the rice does not stick to the pot
  • Add in the salt and the water and stir
  • Keep it on high heat until the rice starts to boil
  • Cover and lower the heat as much as possible and let it cook until done
