How To Make Rice Pudding At Home In 30 Minutes

Learn how to make rice pudding at home in 30 minutes that can be kept in the fridge for up to a week! If you have been looking for an easy dessert recipe that is cheap to make but tastes amazing and also kids friendly, this Lebanese dessert recipe is just the way to go! How To Make Rice Pudding At Home In 30 Minutes

For this dessert, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 2 cups of milk powder
  • 1 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 3 quarters of a cup of corn starch
  • 6 cups of water
  • 1/2 cup of short-grain white rice
  • 4 cups of water to boil the rice
  • 1 tablespoon of rose water
  • 1 tablespoon of orange blossom water
  • ground pistachios for garnishing

How To prepare This Rice Pudding At Home

  • Wash the rice and in a large pot, boil the 4 cups of water
  • add in the rice and let it boil on low heat until very soft and starchy
  • let almost all the water dry and stir occasionally so that it does not burn
  • in a large bowl, mix all of the dry ingredients and add in the 6 cups of water
  • add in the orange blossom water and the rose water
  • mix well and use a small eye strainer to strain the mixture over the cooked rice
  • continue stirring until thick
  • empty the pudding into small bowls and let them sit on the kitchen counter to cool completely
  • transfer them to the fridge and it can be stored there for up to a week
  • you can garnish your rice pudding with the pistachios (optional)
