Ingredients

  • 15 Chicken Wings a mix of drums and flats
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Ranch Seasoning Packet store-bought or homemade
  • Sea Salt to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes optional for a hint of heat

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Digital Meat Thermometer
  • Large Mixing Bowl

Method

  1. Pat the chicken wings completely dry with a paper towel. This is a crucial step for achieving crispy skin. Place the dry wings into a large mixing bowl.
    15 Chicken Wings
  2. Add the olive oil, half of the dried ranch dip mix, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the bowl. Toss the chicken wings until they are evenly coated in the oil and spices.
1 tablespoon Olive Oil, 2 tablespoons Ranch Seasoning Packet, Sea Salt, Ground Black Pepper, 1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  3. Mist the basket of your air fryer with a little oil and preheat it to 400 degrees F.
  4. Add the chicken wings to the basket in a single layer. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to work in batches. Close the lid and cook for 18 to 22 minutes.
  5. About halfway through the cooking time (around the 10-minute mark), open the air fryer. Sprinkle the remaining ranch seasoning over the wings and toss them to ensure even browning.
    2 tablespoons Ranch Seasoning Packet
  6. The wings are finished when they are crispy, slightly charred, and have reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
  7. Remove the wings from the air fryer and serve them warm. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with a side of ranch or blue cheese dressing.

Notes

For the best results, do not skip the second round of seasoning halfway through the cooking process as it ensures the flavor is prominent. Be sure to pat the wings completely dry before adding oil to guarantee the skin gets crispy.
